About Us
Kalagu was founded by Marivic “Jed” Vanover. The thought of opening a skin care company has long toyed in Jed’s mind. Jed’s skin is sensitive and has been susceptible to a lot of imperfections which led to many disappointments and, while growing up, her endless search for good skin care products was not always easy. Some caused her skin to break out or become more dull, and some good products were not affordable.
Fast forward: Jed now has a daughter who also likes skin care, and the trips to skin care stores and malls can be expensive. This has prompted Jed to revisit her thought of starting a skin care company where effective and high-quality products are affordable and accessible. Access to quality skin care should not be a luxury but a way of life.
Jed grew up in the Philippines and the brand name, “Kalagu” pays homage to her heritage and roots. Kalagu means “Beautiful” in the Philippines Kapampangan dialect. Jed believes that everyone is uniquely beautiful, inside and out. However, external beauty helps boost self-confidence, and Kalagu aims to be in the forefront of every household’s Self-Care Regimen. Kalagu is for everyone, helping women and men feel their absolute best with confidence… because Life is Beautiful.

We are cognizant and embrace emerging trends, and intend to establish relevant and sustainable beauty products and experiences, making them affordable and accessible to everyone.
